28th September 2010 - Mobile Commerce delivers ‘Find Your Nearest McDonald’s’ for mobile
Mobile Commerce, the UK’s leading provider of location-based services (LBS) and mobile content integration, has partnered with McDonald’s to deliver a ‘Find Your Nearest McDonald’s’ mobile internet service.
Designed to be simple to use, easy to navigate and look clean, the mobile internet site works on any internet enabled mobile handset and has been optimised for use on both touch and non-touch devices. In the case of the iPhone – currently generating the majority of McDonald’s mobile traffic – the service has been integrated with handset location functionality.
The mobile site displays the nearest McDonald’s restaurants on a map and provides information on opening times and details services each restaurant offers. Users can view directions to each restaurant - either for walking or driving – from their current location. The user can either self locate using their handset to find their location, or in the case of the iPhone opt to use handset location.
Alistair Macrow Vice President, Marketing, McDonald’s UK said: "At McDonald's we want to provide the best customer service experience and this means serving our customers at the times and places which suit them. People want access to information whilst they are out and about – and our dedicated mobile internet site developed by Mobile Commerce enables our customers to quickly and easily search for, and then locate their nearest McDonald’s restaurant from wherever they are.”
“Mobile optimisation is becoming essential,” Steve Page, Mobile Commerce CEO, said. “It addresses the specific needs of the mobile user. Users don’t want to have to navigate through pages or scroll round websites to find what they’re looking for, and that’s exactly what we’ve addressed with this service. We’re delighted to be working with such a well known global brand as McDonalds, and to be showcasing our experience and expertise with a brand that receives such a high volume of traffic.”
The mobile site has already been rated 6th in the techradar.com Top 20 Mobile Sites 2010.
