7th March 2011 - Mobile Commerce partners with thomsonlocal.com to bring local business search app to Android Market

Mobile Commerce, the UK’s leading provider of location-based services (LBS) and mobile content integration, today announces the launch of the thomsonlocal.com app for Android in partnership with thomsonlocal.com, the local business search company.

The app allows the user to access thomsonlocal.com’s database of over 2 million businesses, the most comprehensive of its kind in the UK, in an experience Mobile Commerce has tailor made for Android smartphones. It delivers detailed information for each business, along with thomsonlocal.com’s additional information, including ratings and reviews.

Users can select from the most popular categories and search for information on any business near their location or anywhere in the UK. Results can then be displayed as a list or on a map, and the user can access ratings and reviews.

The app allows key actions to be carried out, specifically for the Android smartphones, such as ‘Click-to-Call’ ‘Add Business as a Contact’ and send email. Recent searches are also saved for repeat use.
